Charity Campaign “I Care About Children’s Health” (March – April 2013)
The project was implemented in partnership with the local food service chain “Pizza-Park” (Individual Entrepreneur Sumarokova).
The aim of the project was to raise public awareness about the issue of child alcoholism and to raise funds for organizing preventive activities focused on comprehensive information dissemination, education, and anti-alcohol upbringing for children and school-aged youth in Chernivtsi.
The project activities aimed to address the critical situation regarding alcohol and low-alcohol beverage consumption among children and teenagers. Alcohol use at a young age poses a serious threat to the genetic pool of the country: it leads to social maladaptation, a tendency toward aggression, conflict and criminal behavior, rapid development of physical dependence, and a high rate of complications, often resulting in premature death.
As part of the campaign, during March–April 2013, visitors to “Pizza-Park” establishments in Chernivtsi had the opportunity to purchase charity stickers “I Care About Children’s Health” and thus support the Foundation’s initiative to combat child alcoholism.
A total of UAH 1,424 was raised from sticker sales. Of this amount, UAH 556.09 was used to develop visual informational materials for students and teachers. UAH 867.91 was allocated for prevention activities, including the 2nd Poster and Drawing Contest on the theme “Youth Against Alcoholism” among students of general and extracurricular educational institutions in Chernivtsi (with the support of the Department of Education of the Chernivtsi City Council), among other initiatives.
Private Entrepreneur A.V. Lytvynchuk contributed to the campaign by producing five visual informational stands titled “Consequences of Alcohol Consumption” worth UAH 410. These were donated to the following schools: School No. 1, School No. 2, School No. 3, School No. 24, and School No. 27.
