Business School Continues — the Stage of Mentoring Support and Business Plan Preparation

Participants of our business schools are now working at the key stage of individual mentoring support. According to the program schedule, August–September is devoted precisely to consultations and support for veterans and their family members during the writing of business plans, and the final event — the public defense of business ideas — will take place on 29 September 2025. After the defense, the jury will select the six best applications that will receive equipment grants — up to UAH 400,000 each.

Mentoring sessions cover practical topics that participants need to understand well in their own projects: formation of the value proposition and marketing strategy, pricing models, supply and resource planning, business risks and insurance, as well as the path to start-up financing. Individual consultations by mentors help to “ground” these blocks in the participants’ concrete ideas. Among the business ideas are: the sewing business; coffee shops; nail salons; flower studios; bakery/baking; retail trade; farming (including horticulture); carpentry workshops, as well as initiatives in the field of sports. Part of the participants are still determining their niche — mentors help to pass the validation of the idea and to form a viable business model.

Comment by Olena Tanasiychuk, President of the “Public Resources and Initiatives” Charity Foundation:
“Business school for us is about restoring self-reliance and dignity through work. Already at the mentoring stage we see how various ideas — from sewing and baking to coffee shops, nail salons, flower and carpentry businesses — are being transformed into viable models with real calculations. On 29 September the jury will evaluate not the ‘beauty of the presentation’ but the growth potential, realism, and impact on communities. We adhere to transparent rules and equal opportunities: equipment grants up to UAH 400,000 are a tool, and the main result for us is new jobs, a strengthening local economy, and confident entrepreneurs. We thank the mentors and partners for their systemic support of the participants.”

Let us remind that the business school started on 16 July within the project “Reintegration of war veterans (male and female) through the creation of educational opportunities: Ours for ours,” where a combination of theory and practice is envisaged, and during the preparation of business plans — mentoring support and individual business consultations.

The project Reintegration of War Veterans through the Creation of Educational Opportunities: Ours for Ours, implemented by the “Public Resources and Initiatives” Charity Foundation in partnership with DVV International in Ukraine with the support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
