Enrollment has officially begun in the Chernivtsi region for free educational programs designed for veterans, female veterans, their family members, families of fallen defenders, and persons with war-related disabilities. Currently, registration is open for the following professional courses:
Fundamentals of Accounting
Introduction to Massage
Nail Service Techniques
These educational opportunities are offered as part of the project “Reintegration of War Veterans through Educational Opportunities: Ours for Ours”, initiated by the “Public Resources and Initiatives” Charity Foundation in partnership with DVV International in Ukraine and supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.
“Education is one of the key tools for the rehabilitation and integration of those returning from war into civilian life. That’s why the project is titled ‘Reintegration of War Veterans through Educational Opportunities: Ours for Ours’ — because the goal is not merely to provide knowledge, but to create conditions in which every combatant can discover a new role, realize their potential, and feel part of a community. The focus on education in this initiative is no coincidence: it aims to give veterans the tools for professional recovery, self-employment, and confidence in the future,”
— says Olena Tanasiychuk, project manager and president of the Public Resources and Initiatives Foundation.
All educational programs are offered free of charge.
The courses on Accounting Fundamentals, Massage Basics, and Nail Services provide participants with an opportunity to acquire a new profession or additional qualification in a short time. The training will include both theoretical and hands-on practical instruction under the guidance of experienced educators. Upon successful completion, participants will receive official certificates from the training institution.
The estimated start date is July 2025, with a flexible schedule — morning or evening groups depending on participants’ availability. Seats are limited, and interested individuals must fill out a registration form.
In addition, the project includes a series of training sessions on the following topics:
Furthermore, business schools titled “How to Start Your Own Business” will be held in Mamaivtsi and Mahala communities. These will offer training, mentoring, and individual consultations with business trainers to help participants prepare business plans. The six best business ideas will each receive a grant of UAH 225,000 (including taxes) to purchase essential components for launching their ventures.
“We conducted a thorough analysis of veterans’ needs, and the project structure directly reflects that. Education here is not just a set of courses — it’s a path to rediscovering one’s professional potential and future,”
adds Olena Tanasiychuk, project lead and president of the Foundation.
This project builds on the Foundation’s long-standing commitment to adult education. As early as 2016, the Foundation launched the Open University for Adults in partnership with the Mykhailo Ivasiuk Chernivtsi Regional Scientific Library and DVV International. The current initiative represents a significant expansion of this collaboration.
“This is not a one-time action for us, but part of a consistent strategy to develop adult education as a resource of resilience. Together with DVV International in Ukraine, we are building a learning ecosystem that serves both the veteran and the community,”
says Olena Tanasiychuk.
The project will run through February 2026 and will include not only educational activities, but also psychological support, business grants, consultations, and community integration events.
