Business School for Veterans and Their Family Members

The Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation implements a Business School programme for veterans and their family members who want to start their own business, develop an existing enterprise, or turn an idea into a realistic business plan.

The programme started in Kyiv and is gradually expanding its geographical reach. In 2026, the Foundation has already conducted four Business Schools — two in Kyiv, one in Odesa, and one in Dnipro.

The Business School is a free educational and practical programme that combines intensive training, work on participants’ own business ideas, mentoring, and ongoing support on the path towards launching or developing their own businesses.

It is an opportunity to gain practical knowledge, structure a business idea, develop a viable business model, prepare a business plan, and take a confident step towards economic independence.

Programme Format

As part of the Business School, participants take part in intensive offline training, work on their own business ideas, and receive follow-up mentoring support.

The programme includes:

✔️ intensive practical training;
✔️ work on an individual business plan;
✔️ support from trainers and mentors;
✔️ follow-up support after completion of the training stage;
✔️ assistance in finalising a business model or preparing to launch a business.

Business Schools have already been held in Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipro. The programme continues to grow, expanding opportunities for the veteran community in different regions of Ukraine.

Who Can Participate

The programme is designed for people who want to develop a business plan, start a new business, or expand an existing one and who belong to one of the following categories:

— combat veterans;
— persons with disabilities as a result of the war;
— family members of combat veterans or persons with disabilities as a result of the war, including:
• wives or husbands, including spouses of fallen or deceased Defenders of Ukraine;
• children, including children of fallen or deceased Defenders of Ukraine;
• parents, including parents of fallen or deceased Defenders of Ukraine.

Veterans and their family members from communities where the Business School programme is implemented are invited to participate.

The Business School Programme Includes

▫️ step-by-step development of an individual business plan;
▫️ practical knowledge for launching and developing a business;
▫️ development of a business model;
▫️ financial planning and profitability calculations;
▫️ marketing and positioning;
▫️ legal aspects of starting and running a business;
▫️ assessment of resources and risks;
▫️ mentoring and ongoing support.

Four Business Schools in 2026

During 2026, the programme has already reached three cities in Ukraine:

Kyiv — two Business Schools
The first training programmes provided a space for veterans and their family members to work on their own business ideas — from an initial concept to developing a business plan and identifying concrete steps towards launching or expanding a business.

Odesa — one Business School

Participants completed intensive practical training and continued working on their business plans with the support of mentors.

Dnipro — one Business School

Particular attention was paid to supporting members of the veteran community and military families who want to establish or develop their own businesses.

The work does not end when the training is completed: participants continue to refine their business ideas and receive mentoring support.

Entrepreneurship for veterans and their family members is not only about income. It is about economic independence, the ability to plan for the future, professional self-realisation, and creating a stable foundation for themselves and their families.

We see that many participants come to the Business School with an existing idea, previous experience, or a desire to change their professional path. Our role is to help turn that intention into a realistic and well-structured plan of action.

The Business School creates an environment where experience, knowledge, responsibility, and readiness to move forward are transformed into concrete business ideas, business plans, and new enterprises.
