Distribution of Winterization Kits for Vulnerable Families Continues in Dnipro

The Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation has carried out another distribution of winterization kits in the city of Dnipro within the framework of the project Humanitarian Support to Vulnerable Households: Winterization of Housing, implemented with the financial support of the Religious Administration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ukraine.

Today, Dnipro is a city where the east, south, and north of Ukraine meet. It has become a temporary refuge for people from communities whose names were once little known to most Ukrainians, but have now become symbols of resilience and pain: Bakhmut, Pokrovsk, Soledar, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and dozens of others. They are joined by families evacuated from the border areas of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, where Ukrainian Defenders continue to hold the line every day.

Many of these people have lost their homes or are forced to live in damaged or temporary housing without proper heating or stable electricity. Amid ongoing attacks on energy infrastructure and prolonged мороз temperatures, the need for winterization support remains critical.

“Support in these dark times is no less important than resistance. We see families who were forced to leave everything behind and are now freezing. Our task is to make sure they are not left alone with the cold. Each kit we deliver is about care, dignity, and the feeling that someone remembers you. As long as the морозs continue and attacks on energy infrastructure do not stop, we have no right to pause,” emphasized Olena Tanasiychuk, President of the Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation.

The winterization kits include essential items to help retain heat and ensure basic safety in households: a combined electric-gas heater, blankets, a flashlight, window and door insulation materials, a power bank, a fire extinguisher, and other critical supplies. Beneficiaries are selected based on vulnerability criteria, with priority given to families with children, elderly people, persons with disabilities, women-headed households, and internally displaced persons. In total, 350 vulnerable households will receive assistance.

The морозs keep us alert. The challenges do not decrease. But together — it is warmer.
